Integral Equine Nutrition aims to assess and evaluate horse feeding and management by combining scientific skills with grass-roots observation and a good dose of common sense! All advice is completely independent from commercial feed companies.
This means that all diet evaluations start by assessing the horse, its life and its home. Integral Equine Nutrition believes that the horses' basic biological needs (continual foraging) must be fulfilled as a priority. Without proper digestive function, even the best diets will not be as effective. We then must look at each horse as an individual to formulate a feeding strategy that creates optimal health and well being. This includes understanding that textbook nutrient requirements are based on the "average" horse - which your horse is not! - and using them as a guide. All diets are developed with an "open scientific mind" - evidence based but acknowledging that there is still so much we do not yet know.
